New Years baby makes appearance at WLMH

Landon Daniel Droppert was the first baby born at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital (WLMH) this year.

Landon was born just before midnight on Jan. 1. At first his parents, Laura and Tim of St. Catharines thought he might be born on Jan. 2.

NYE baby“I kept watching the clock because I wanted a January 1st baby,” Laura said. “It was close, at first I thought he wasn’t going to be born until the 2nd, but things progressed really quickly in the end and he was born at 11:44 p.m. Jan. 1.”

Landon also seemed to want a Jan. 1 birthday as he was born two days before his due date, weighing in at 8 lbs. 5 oz and measuring 20 inches.

Laura and Tim were so excited to welcome their first born on the first day of 2014. Though they live in St. Catharines, the wonderful reputation of the WLMH obstetrics department brought them to Grimsby where the care definitely lived up to the reputation.

“The care here has been amazing,” they said.

Now, they can’t wait to bring their beautiful baby boy home and enjoy what’s shaping up to be a great year for their family.
