Body found on lake near Beacon

Wednesday evening at approximately 8 pm the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to the area of the rock breakwall near the Beacon Harbourside Yacht Club in the Town of Lincoln for a report of a body floating in the water.

The body was discovered by three fishermen who were fishing from a boat near the structure. The Niagara Regional Police Service’s Marine and Underwater Search and Recovery Unit attended the area and recovered the body of an adult male.

The identity of this individual has yet to be confirmed, it will be positively determined following a post mortem scheduled for today (June 10).

Further information will be released pending notification of the next of kin.
