Lincoln Chamber of Commerce hosts all-candidates night Oct. 6

Voters of West Niagara will have an opportunity to meet and assess the candidates seeking to represent them in Ottawa on next Tuesday, Oct. 6.

The Lincoln Chamber of Commerce will host an All-Candidates Night at the Lincoln Centre, 4361 Central Ave., in Beamsville.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The event runs 7- 8:30 p.m.

“Our goal, is to provide the members of our community with a real opportunity to pose questions to the candidates in a civil, yet engaging, forum,” said Cathy McNiven, executive manager of the Chamber.

To that effect, the local chamber has gone to some lengths to create a welcoming environment for voters of all political stripes. No party placards, posters, clothing or buttons will be permitted inside the gymnasium. As well, no heckling from the crowd or candidates will be permitted.

“Even if you don’t like a particular candidate, we ask the participants to have respect for your fellow voters and Canadian democracy.”
