Sink hole closes Hwy 20

At approximately 4 a.m. this morning (Wednesday September 2), Niagara Regional Police attended the area of Hwy 20 at South Grimsby Road 5 for a report of a missing manhole cover causing a traffic hazard.

Police discovered a part of the roadway had given out resulting in a 4′ by 20′ sinkhole which required the road to be closed immediately due to safety concerns.

Traffic will be impacted on Hwy 20 at South Grimsby Road 5 to Regional Road 20 and Thirty Road in West Lincoln for the remainder of the day, with the potential for repairs lasting longer.
